Ed Maisey remains president of the Williston New Public School District 8 board.

On Tuesday, election winners Debbie Brown and Dave Rockstad read their oaths of office, and officers for the school board were chosen by the members. Brown was selected as vice president.

Tuesday's meeting was an annual meeting as well as the regular monthly board meeting. During this meeting, Lisa Heinrich was re-appointed to her position as business manager; Superintendent Greg McNary was authorized as the official representative of the Title I, Title II and lunch programs; and Principal Keith Jacobson was authorized as the official representative of the special education program.

Also, the board approved keeping Blue Cross Blue Shield as its health insurance carrier, keeping American State Bank and Trust as its financial institution and retained the district's membership in the North Dakota School Boards Association and Policy Services, North Dakota High School Activities Association and North Dakota Small and Organized Schools. In addition, the board heard from Scott Egge, technology coordinator, said the new district office building on Second Street West is nearly done and carpet is scheduled to be installed by Thursday.
