His Mass of Christian burial is Friday, July 3, 2009, at 2 p.m. at the St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, Underwood. Burial is Monday, July 6, 2009, at 1 p.m. at the North Dakota Veteran’s Cemetery, rural Mandan.
Ernest was born on April 7, 1942, in Rugby to Karl “Charley” and Katie (Boser) Fix. He was raised and educated in the Fessenden area and graduated from Fessenden High School. After high school, he attended Minot State University and graduated with a degree in business and psychology.
Ernest was united in marriage to Dorothy Rademacher on Aug. 26, 1967. They moved to Williston, where he worked as an administrator and counselor for the state of North Dakota Vocational Rehabilitation Agency.
Ernest enjoyed hunting, fishing, softball and later in life golf became his passion. Ernest is survived by his wife Dorothy, Underwood; son, John (Kimberly) Fix, Aurora, Colo.; grandchildren, Kathryn and Elizabeth Fix; brothers, Clemence and Norbert Fix; sisters, Adeline (Ray) Ziegler and Eileen (Jay) Culley and several nieces and nephews.
Ernest was preceded in death by his parents and sister Mary.
