Saturday, September 25 The Dog Jog is a fun event for the whole family, including the dog! Participants stroll, walk, jog, run, or bike around the 1.15 mile walking trail at Spring Lake Park to raise money for the MonDak Humane Society. Funds raised are used for our yearly spay & neuter campaign and other MDHS programs and expenses. Participants can attend with or without a canine friend. If you don’t want to walk come and cheer on those who do. Once again we offer free treat bags and bandanas for the canine participants, a free photo of you with your dog/s, a free T-shirt if you raise $25.00, a free sweatshirt if you raise $100. Prizes are awarded to 10 individuals who raise the most funds. CHECK IN Check in begins at 9:45 on Saturday, Sept. 25th at Spring Lake Park. Participants may begin walking as soon as they check in. Doggy treat bags, bandanas and T-shirts (for raising $25) while supplies last. DON’T DELAY - START TODAY Download a registration form from our website, pick one up around town or give us a call. Fill out the participant form and plan to attend. The registration fee is $10.00 per participant but this will be waived when you collect pledges. Ask your family, friends, co-workers, team mates, neighbors, and church members to make a lump sum pledge. Find a sponsor to match your donations! FORM A PACK NEW THIS YEAR! Gather your family, co-workers, friends, team mates, neighbors, and church members and form your own unique Dog Jog Pack. Give your pack a name (business or fun) and dress up or wear matching T-shirts. Raise funds individually or travel in packs. Find a sponsor to match your collected donations, maybe the company you work for. Combine your donations and have the total ready when you check in. Pack members will be entitled to free T-shirts and sweatshirts if the total funds raised divided by the pack participants meets the minimum requirements. Prizes will be awarded for the top fund raising pack, the largest pack and the most creative pack. |

Well, here we are. It is the start of political season. For the next several months, we will be blitzed, and bombarded at every turn with television and radio advertising, political advertising in the newspaper, internet campaigns, billboards, and on and on and on. Millions and millions of dollars spent by candidates to criticize, ridicule, and blast their opponents. Negative advertising abound, more to knock down their opponents than to promote themselves.
